ALBERT LEA, Minn. – The Waldorf College hockey team's five-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss to St. Cloud State University on Saturday.
The Huskies (3-4) took an opening-period lead following a goal from Aaron Iverson in the 18th minute.
Liggett, a freshman defender from Langley, British Columbia, scored the equalizer for Waldorf, coming off an assist from sophomore Dalton Kaake during the fifth minute of the second period.
St. Cloud State reclaimed the lead behind Cullen Forsythe's goal less than a minute later. Riley Bengston added the game-winning goal, giving the Huskies a 3-1 lead in the ninth minute of the second period.
Loucks tacked on Waldorf's second goal in the final period. The junior forward from Melita, Manitoba scored on assists from junior Jake Taylor and Kaake during the eighth minute.
Nicholas Carroll, a sophomore goaltender from Litchfield Park, Ariz., collected 33 saves in the loss.
St. Cloud State outshot the Warriors 36-31 on the night.
Waldorf returns to action in next weekend's series against Midland University (5-12) with a 7:30 p.m. opener on Friday and 12 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
