The Waldorf women's basketball team dropped a conference matchup to Clarke University 68-52 on Wednesday night. The Warriors endured offensive struggles in the first half as they shot 23.3% from the floor. Clarke took the halftime lead 41-19.
In the second half, Waldorf was able to collect more offensive going 46.4% from the field. The Warriors were able to cut Clarke's lead to 13 points at the 7:34 mark, but that would be the closest they would come. Although the Warriors held the Crusaders to 33% shooting in the second half, Clarke's strong first half would create too much of a deficit on the night. Clarke would take the victory by a final of 68-52.
The Warriors were led by Ellie Markwardt (SO-Pewaukee, WI) and Aubrey Draves (SR-Andover, MN) who each scored 13 points. BreeAnn Hageman (JR-Ossian, IA) added 10 points and 9 rebounds.
The Warriors are now 7-21 overall and 4-13 in the MCC. The team will take on #9 Grand View University at home on Saturday at 1PM. It will be Senior Day and the women will be recognized during halftime of the men's game.
