The Warriors lost their first game in 10 outings on Tuesday afternoon.  Mt. Mercy got their offense started early, posting 6 runs through the first three innings.  The Warriors would get 2 runs back in the bottom of the third.  Vince Perricelli (SO-Niagara Falls, NY) got the inning started with a single, and Tevin Padgett (SO-Pensacola, FL) followed with a hard-hit double to move Perricelli to third.  Brandon Pizzo (JR-Fresno, CA) hit a fly ball to right field to scored Perricelli and gain the RBI.  Keith Cullivan (JR-Tucson, AZ) batted-in Padgett with a single to narrow the score to 6-2.

Waldorf chipped away at Mt. Mercy's lead again in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Shaun McGuire (SR-Bancroft, IA) hit a lead-off single and advanced to second on a passed ball.  Shawn Palmer (SR-Rochester, MN) delivered double to score McGuire from second.  Palmer would advance to third base on a ground-out from Perricelli.  Tevin Padgett reached on an error by the shortstop, which scored Palmer.  Padgett then advanced to second on a passed ball and to third on an error by the shortstop.  He would then score on a passed ball to put the Warriors down 6-5. 

The Warriors allowed 3 runs in the top of the ninth inning and would be unable to overcome the deficit in the bottom-half of the inning.  Mt. Mercy took the win 9-5.

The Warriors are now 21-13 overall and 9-4 in the MCC.  Their next game will be April 14th at Iowa Wesleyan College at 2:00PM.
