Game 2

Iowa Wesleyan 7, Waldorf 5

The Warriors showed their resilience with the start of the second game.  Tevin Padgett (SO-Pensacola, FL) led-off the game with a solo shot to right field.  The Tigers responded in the bottom half of the inning and after one inning of play, Iowa Wesleyan held the 2-1 advantage.

In the top of the third, the Warriors found their rhythm.  Padgett stepped to the plate and delivered another homerun to right field.  Brandon Pizzo (JR-Fresno, CA) doubled through the left side.  Another double from Spenser Popinga scored Pizzo from second.  After three complete innings the game was knotted at 3-3.

Waldorf tacked on another run in the top of the fourth on a RBI single from Popinga.  McFeely pinch-hit in the fifth inning and reached on a fielder's choice.  He stole second base to get into scoring position, which paid off.  Shawn Palmer (SR-Rochester, MN) drove a single to centerfield to score McFeely.  The Tigers would hold the 6-5 lead after five complete innings.

The Warriors would be unable to take the lead from the Tigers in their final at-bats and would fall 7-5.

Waldorf is now 21-15 overall and 9-6 in the MCC.  They will take on the Tigers again Sunday at 1:00PM.
