Donnelly got the start in game two

Game 1

Northwestern (IA) 2, Waldorf 1

The Red Raiders got on the board in the second inning scoring two runs.  Waldorf would be unable to plate a run until the bottom of the fourth inning.  Amy Nelson (SR-Clarinda, IA) reached on a walk and advanced to second when Kathryn Nieman (SO-Clear Lake, IA) got on by an error.  Macey Hickes (SR-Winnipeg, MB) singled to load the bases for Holly Gilbertson (JR-Forest City, IA).  Gilbertson came through with a sacrifice fly to center scoring Nelson.  After four innings, Northwestern retained the 2-1 advantage.  The Red Raiders would go on to take the win by the same margin.

Lauren Camp (SO-Savoy, TX) threw all seven innings for the Warriors.  She allowed 7 hits and struck out 4 Red Raiders.

 

Game 2

Northwestern (IA) 8, Waldorf 1

Northwestern amped up their offense for the second game, gaining an 8-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth.  Senior Katie Bredlow (Altoona, IA) delivered the Warriors lone run on a homer.  The Warriors would lose 8-1.

Marisa Donnelly (FR-Naperville, IL) got the start for game two.  She went four innings allowing 7 hits.  Michelle Eden (FR-Britt, IA) threw the final three innings and gave up 4 hits and struck out 5.

The Warriors are now 25-25 overall.  They will now wait for the seeding and MCC Pods to be released mid-week.  Tournament play will begin on Saturday.
