Trey Scott is a graduate of Spring Lake Park High School in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. He played his high school ball for coach Grant Guzy, and helped lead his team to a state tournament berth in 2009. Scott was a two-time All-Conference selection in high school.
After high school, Scott enrolled at Anoka-Ramsey Community College to play for Coach Ron Larson. During his sophomore season, Scott led one of the biggest turnarounds in school history, as the Rams improved their win total by 12 games. At A-R, Scott received recognition as All-Tournament, All-State, All-Conference and All-Region. During his sophomore campaign he averaged 22 points per game, good for 7th in the country. He also set a school record with 5.2 steals per game, good for 3rd in the nation. Scott finished his career with over 1,000 points in a Rams uniform.
Scott signed with Waldorf College in the Spring of 2012. He sat out the 2012-2013 season with an ACL injury.
