[Men's Wrestling] Two Wrestlers Place at Northern Plains Senior Regional

Five Warriors traveled to Waterloo on May 11^th to compete at the Northern Plains Senior Regional freestyle event, but two wrestlers shined at the tournament.

[Waldorf] All-MCAC Baseball and Softball Teams Announced

The Warrior baseball team narrowly missed a bid to the MCAC Tournament in April. They posted a 15-30 overall record and an 8-14 mark in MCAC play, but they were able to gain ten victories in the month of April.

[Softball] Warriors Split with Solid Bellevue Squad

Waldorf played host to Bellevue University on Monday afternoon for their final regular season game. The Bruins entered the double-header sitting in second place in the MCAC and receiving votes in the NAIA. Both teams had already secured their spot in the MCAC tournament later in the week, Bellevue with the second seed and Waldorf with the fourth seed.

Kathryn Nieman jump started the Warrior offense in the second with a solo homer. They struck again in the third inning, led by a double from Kate Martino. With a runner in scoring position, Kristin Davis singled to center to drive in the run and give Waldorf the 2-0 lead.

York got on the board in the first behind a two-run homer and the Warriors waited until the third inning to begin their rally. With the bases load, Michelle Eden recorded the first RBI with a single to left field. Maggie Hawley singled to drive in the Warriors' second run. The third run of the inning came as Courtney Palmer was hit by a pitch to walk in a run.

[Men's Wrestling] Binversie Named NWCA All-Academic Selection

Brock Binversie continues to add to his accolades during his junior campaign with the Warrior wrestling program. In the 2012-13 season Binversie was a NAIA national qualifier and a NAIA Scholar Athlete. He has now been selected as a NWCA All-Academic honoree.

This list recognizes individuals who qualified for the national tournament and maintain at least a 3.25 GPA, or All-Americans who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

Binversie is a criminal justice major at Waldorf and maintains a 3.62 GPA.

[Women's Wrestling] Jones Qualifies for World Team Trials

Three Warriors traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete at the Asics U.S. Open over the weekend. Senior, Tamika Jones sought to wrap up her collegiate career on a high note, seeking a bid to World Team Trials. In January, Jones received All-American recognition after placing at WCWA Nationals. Jones' first match at 48 kg was against Bernara Moore. She was defeated by decision 7-1, 5-1 to enter the consolation bracket. After a bye, Jones entered a tough fought match with fellow teammate, Lilian Salinas. Jones took the 2-0, 2-0 decision. She then faced Oklahoma City University's Emily Webster, who handed Jones a technical fall. From there, Jones took on Allene Somera in the seventh place match. Jones emerged victorious with a 5-0, 0-1, 6-1 decision. Her seventh place finish secured her a spot at World Team Trials.

[Softball] Softball Downs Presentation in Home Opener

Waldorf hosted Presentation College for their home opener. After being held without a home game until April 20^th, Waldorf hosted the Saints with some slightly different scenery. Due to poor conditions on the softball field the game was held on Bolstorff Field.

[Hockey] Warrior Hockey Shows Well at All-Star Event

The WCCHA Conference All-Stars, led by seven players from Waldorf, had a successful weekend at the ACHA Division II All-Star Challenge in West Chester, Pennsylvania on April 5-7^th. The team finished with a 3-2 overall record and was in contention for the championship game until a 5-4 loss to the TSCHL in the fourth game.

[Men's Golf] Forest City�s O�Rourke Signs with Waldorf Golf

Forest City High School senior, Thomas O'Rourke has signed a letter of intent to play his collegiate golf at Waldorf College.

O'Rourke's talent on the course is matched by his abilities in the classroom, which drew the attention of Waldorf's Head Golf Coach, Mark Clouse. "Thomas has excelled both in the classroom and on the golf course, which is an ideal combination for someone wanting to compete at the collegiate level."

"Team chemistry is important because the players spend a lot of time together preparing for competition," added Clouse. "His personality will mesh nicely with our current roster of players which should help the transition from high school to college go smoothly for him."

Coach Clouse is excited about the effect O'Rourke will make on the golf program. "Thomas is motivated to make an impact in college. It will be exciting to watch him develop over the next four years as a Waldorf Warrior."

[Women's Wrestling] Martell Takes the Helm of Women�s Wrestling Program

Director of Athletics, Michael Scarano has announced Courtney Martell as the next Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Waldorf College. For the past two seasons, Martell has served as an Assistant Coach for the women's wrestling team at Midland University.

The Warriors got the offense rolling early as they put up two runs in the first inning. After Jake Bews drew a walk, Brandon Pizzo laced a homerun down the left field line. Bews came through in the third inning with a solo homer down the left field line.

They retained a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning where they posted another run. With one out, Lance McFeely doubled into left center. He was replaced on the bases by Zac Bendickson. A single from Montana Schowalter moved Bendickson to third. Jeff Ferstein delivered the RBI single to score Bendickson.

Matt Hutchins threw seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits before Casey Schuermann came in for the save.

The Warriors collected both runs in the fourth inning as Brandon Pizzo led off the inning with a single. Ben Alexander laid down the sacrifice to move Pizzo to second. A single from Kendrick White scored Pizzo from second and White advanced to second on the throw. He then moved up to third on a wild pitch. Lance McFeely grounded out to the shortstop, but the play scored White. Waldorf went up 2-0 through four innings and would hold that margin for the win.

[Baseball] Baseball Splits on the Road with Clarke

Waldorf 3, Clarke 0

Waldorf scattered seven hits, while Abraham Ramirez and the Warriors held the Crusaders to just three hits. Through four innings the game remained scoreless, but Waldorf emerged in the fifth to score their three runs.

Jake Bews led off with a homerun to left field. Lance McFeely followed with a double to left-center. He was replaced on the bases by Zach Carr. A single from Vince Perricelli drove in Carr, giving Waldorf the 2-0 lead. Following a pitching change by the Crusaders Keith Cullivan grounded out, but the play advanced Perricelli to third. Tevin Padgett reached on a fielder's choice and Clarke threw out Perrcelli at home. Zac Bendickson delivered the final RBI on the inning on a single to right center.
