The Warriors had a tough draw in the first round of MCAC tournament play against Haskell. In the regular season, the Warriors lost in overtime on the road and won at home against the Indians. Waldorf commanded the early lead and maintained the lead for the majority of the first half before taking the 30-27 halftime lead. BreeAnn Hageman (Sr-Ossian, IA) displayed early dominance, gaining a double-double in the first period with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

BreeAnn Hageman (Sr-Ossian, IA) celebrated senior night in a big way, collecting her eighteenth double-double of the season. Despite the Warriors' reliance on outside shooting this season, they took to the paint against York College. Waldorf was able to take advantage of their physical presence against an undersized Panther squad, outscoring York 40-20 in the paint.

The Warriors hosted the College of St. Mary for their annual Coaches vs. Cancer game. The Lady Flames entered the night's contest in third place in the MCAC, one slot in front of the Warriors. CSM grabbed the lead early in the first, but the Warriors worked their way back to within three points with 4:36 remaining. The Lady Flames poured on the offense again and built a 43-30 advantage at halftime.

The Warriors completed their weekend road trip with a stop in Conway, Arkansas to take on Central Baptist College. The Mustangs did their best to limit Waldorf's outside shooting, which resulted in extra looks for center, BreeAnn Hageman (Sr-Ossian, IA). She took advantage of the touches and racked up 25 points, while collecting 16 rebounds and five blocks.

The Waldorf women's basketball team played host to the Central Christian Tigers on Friday night. Looking for their fourth win of 2013, the Warriors jumped out to a quick lead, and handled the Tigers easily 83-41.

The Warriors picked up their third conference victory of the season downing Central Baptist College 63-44. They were able to build an early lead as the Lady Mustangs were plagued by cold-shooting in the opening half, managing just 27% from the floor. At half the Warriors were up 30-20.

[Women's Basketball] Jones 3 Pointer Propels Oklahoma Wesleyan, Stuns Warriors

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagle's made the trip up to Forest City Friday night and left in stunning fashion, as Megan Jones capitalized on an offensive rebound by knocking down the game-winning 3 pointer with under 5 seconds to go, stunning the crowd at Hanson Fieldhouse. Out of timeouts, Ellie Markwardt (Jr - Pewaukee, WI) was able to advance the ball and get a shot off, but it was highly contested and fell short, giving the Eagles a 71-70 victory.

The Warriors were able to jump out to a quick start, leading 32-20 with just under 5 minutes remaining in the first half. The Lady Eagles responded with a run of their own, outscoring the Warriors 34-12 over the next sixteen minutes, obtaining a 54-44 lead with twelve minutes remaining in the contest.

The Warriors responded with a 13-0 run over the next four and a half, as Markwardt hit two 3-pointers and added a layup, taking the lead lead at 57-54 with 8:29 remaining.

The Lady Eagles responded to the run by keeping the game within one possession the rest of the game, ultimately setting up Jones for the game winner.

The Warriors had five players produce double-figures in the scoring column. Markwardt led the charge with 14 points, Goli Tavassoli (Sr - Vacaville, CA) and Lane Gehl (Jr - Fulda, MN) chipped in 13 and BreeAnn Hageman (Sr - Ossian, IA) and DeSia Demmings (Jr - St. Paul, MN) added 11. Hageman had a game-hgih 16 rebounds.

The Lady Eagles were led by Delany Jones with 15 points.

Waldorf is back in action on Saturday, as the Warriors host Central Baptist tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
