Senior, Tamika Jones (Columbia, SC) picked up Waldorf's first three points with her 3-2, 3-0 victory over Gem Palencia at 101 pounds. The Warriors fourth and final point came from Dana Karkar (Jr-Willits, CA) in her 1-0, 4-1 loss to Alicia Hubbard.

Last season, the Warriors traveled from coast-to-coast to compete against the best wrestlers in the country. Early into the 2012-13 season, the experience has been paying dividends. In the first three weeks of their competition schedule the Warriors have had solid showings, and this weekend was no different.

Head Women's Wrestling Coach Dustin Baynes has been selected to attend the National Wrestling Coaches Association's Coaching Leadership Academy. Baynes received a full scholarship to attend the academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 1 and 2nd. He is one of forty-five coaches from all collegiate divisions to be selected.

The journey of Waldorf College's Jessica Fresh continues to the wrestling mats of Guatemala this summer. The Knoxville, Iowa-native has accumulated many accolades in just her first year as a member of the women's wrestling team. She has earned All-American status and qualified to compete at the Olympic Team Trials in Iowa City this spring.
