Denny Gilbertson is in his first year as the Director of Athletic Events and Facilities and begins his 16th season as the Waldorf College Head Softball Coach.  His teams have compiled a record of 608-183, including 11 regular season conference championships and six conference tournament titles.  he has coached 14 All-Americans and 36 Academic All-Scholars.

Gilbertson, a native of Forest City, earned an Associate of Arts degree from Waldorf College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Master of Arts degree from Mankato State University.
