Warriors Face Red Raider Open

Orange City, IA- The Warriors' Men's Track and Field team exhibited outstanding performances at the Red Raider Open, hosted by Northwestern College. Competing against athletes from various schools, the team achieved significant personal bests in both the track and field events.

The Men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Fernandez, Dominique, Dolney, and Jappah, delivering a notable time of 3:32.10 earning an 8th place overall finish. Sunel Fernandez made strides in the 100m dash, placing third all-time with a blistering time of 10.94 seconds, and securing the eighth all-time spot in the 200m with a time of 22.88 seconds. Jeacajay Jappah clocked an impressive 59.20 seconds in the 400m hurdles, placing sixth in the school's all-time records, while Dominique Brunelson ran a stellar 400m in 52.07 seconds, also ranked eighth all-time.

In field events, Marquis Simpson recorded a long jump of 6.63 meters, ranking sixth all-time. Isaiah Cote tackled the 3k steeplechase in 11:35.30, placing him 98th all-time, an impressive feat given the challenging nature of the event. Additionally, Jayden Lawrence showed his prowess in throws with a 10.25m shot put and a 27.58m discus throw. Not to be outdone, Cooper Yao achieved a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 13.63 meters.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are set to compete next at the Maverick Invitational in Mankato, MN, on April 18th.
