School record relay highlights women's performance at NSAAs
MADISON, S.D. - The Waldorf women's 4x800-meter relay set a school record as part of the two-day NSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships completed Friday at Dakota State University.
The quartet of Marissa O'Connor, Danielle Wood, Miracle Tucker, and Brandi Peck combined for a time of 10:40.50 in the 4x800 to set the new school mark.
In the team competition, Waldorf placed fifth. Dickinson State won the conference crown with Viterbo placing second.
Eliza McKown had a good two days on the track for the Warriors. She had a third-place showing in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.98. She also placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.63.
Wood also reached the record books in the 10,000-meter run. Her time of 43:39.18 places her third all-time in school history. She also gained team points in the 5,000-meter run with a seventh-place time of 21:14.07.
Peck delivered a fifth-place time of 1:10.51 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Summer Hayes had a pair of top 10 showings in Waldorf history in the sprint events. Her time of 13.70 in the 100-meter dash now ranks her fifth in school history. Her time of 29.41 in the 200-meter dash is now 10th all-time.
Tucker's showing of 2:34.80 in the 800-meter run is now fifth all-time in school history.
In the throws, Samantha Adams now ranks fourth all-time in school history in the shot put with a distance of 10.41 meters. Kloey Rossmiller now ranks sixth all-time in the hammer throw with a distance of 32.09 meters.
Gemma Jasso collected points for Waldorf in the 1500-meter run with a eighth place time of 6:10.58.
