Eliza McKown Runs at Franke Sevigne Husker Invitational - Sets another School Record
Lincoln, Neb.
Eliza McKown continues to shine in her senior year at Waldorf. After breaking her own school record in the mile run last week, McKown traveled to Lincoln Nebraska to compete against high level competition at the University of Nebraska. McKown broke another one of her own school record times, this time in the 800 meter run. McKown's time of 2:15.25 was the highest placement of any NAIA athlete at the event, and the second highest finish of anyone not competing at the NCAA division 1 level.
Coach Langrell had this to say about McKown's performance "I am happy with where Eliza's fitness is right now. She is 2.5 seconds faster than she was at this time last year and she ran an extremely consistent race. This was a great opportunity for her to compete with some high level competition in preparation for Conference and the National Meet".
McKown had already qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 800 meter at the St. Olaf Opener on January, 17th.
