Waldhauser to continue career with Warriors
OWATONNA, Minn. – Bailey Waldhauser looks to add depth to the Waldorf College cheerleading team's roster.
Waldhauser, a 2015 Owatonna High School graduate, signed a letter of intent with the Warriors on Oct. 3 and will join the squad at the start of the spring semester.
"The addition of a base with the skills that Bailey has will be great for the second semester of our season," Waldorf coach Dyanna Quisling said. "I look forward to having her on the squad and watching her skills transition to the collegiate competition level."
During Waldhauser's prep career with the Huskies, she earned seven varsity letters in cheerleading. Waldhauser is the daughter of Julie Smith and plans to study psychology and criminal justice at Waldorf. She decided to join the Warriors, not only for the opportunity continue her cheer career, but also due to the college's size and offerings.
"I chose Waldorf College because I love the idea of a smaller school with more chances to interact with professors and teachers and all the different programs, clubs and activities they offer," Waldhauser said. "I also chose Waldorf for the great opportunity to continue my passion for cheerleading."
This year marks the first season of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) competition for the Warriors and Waldhauser is looking forward to contributing to the team's success while continuing her education.
"I am happy to be given the opportunity to continue my passion for cheering at the collegiate level," Waldhauser said. "I am excited to be able to keep doing what I love most and to meet new people."
