Waldorf Esports Shines in Postseason Competition

FOREST CITY, Iowa – Waldorf Esports continued their postseason competitions for Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, and Overwatch.

The Warriors fell to Illinois College 4-2 in their last Rocket League match of the year, finishing with a record of 8-1.

Waldorf Overwatch competed against Rockford for a final score of 3-2 in favor of the Warriors. They moved on to face University of Illinois, Springfield where they lost 4-1. The team finished with a record of 7-2.

The Warriors continued their winning streak in Marvel Rivals by defeating Eastern Central University 3-0. They headed to the conference championship to face Morningside University where they remained undefeated for the season with a win of 4-0 and a record of 10-0. This championship's MVP was Asa Stellpflug. Head Coach Caden Swaney said of Stellpflug: "Throughout the entire season, Asa has been an inspirational leader for our team and program, and he showcased that leadership in the finals, ultimately helping lead us to a 4-0 sweep." Asa Stellpflug had this to say: "The season was a rush of emotions with many close matches and plays. I had an amazing time watching the team grow and improve with every game, and the best part by far was watching everyone enjoy themselves and become closer as friends."

On the season as a whole, Coach Swaney added, "As a team, this success reflects a combination of hard work and intentional preparation, but all of that begins with belief. Before you take your first step toward greatness, you must believe that you are capable of achieving it."
