Waldorf Shooting Sports Delivers Strong Performance at Bronco Invitational
GRAND ISLAND, NEB. – The Waldorf Shooting Sports team showcased their grit and competitive spirit at the 2025 Bronco Invitational, held October 4–5 at the Heartland Shooting Park in Grand Island, Nebraska. The event brought together 244 athletes from 17 schools, making it one of the largest and most competitive shoots of the fall season. Despite the tough field, Waldorf delivered a solid performance, finishing 14th overall in team High Overall (HOA) with a combined score of 1467.
Waldorf's scores across the four disciplines included a 432 in Trap, 411 in Skeet, 315 in Super Sporting, and 309 in Sporting Clays. Leading the way individually was Fisher Nagel, who posted strong numbers throughout the weekend and finished 27th in the men's HOA standings. On the women's side, Nicole Laes delivered a standout performance, finishing 23rd overall, followed by Desirae Igou in 31st.
In Skeet, Nagel led the team with a score of 91, followed closely by Laes with 88. Dylan Gotimer added an 80, Brianna Myers contributed a 79, and Igou rounded out the group with a 73. The Trap event saw Nagel again at the top for Waldorf with an impressive 95, while Igou added a 91. Laes followed with an 84, Gotimer posted an 82, and Dominick Weaver contributed an 80.
In Super Sporting, Nagel turned in another strong showing with an 82. Laes shot a 62, Gotimer followed closely with a 61, and Igou added a 60. Both Myers and Weaver contributed a 50 to close out the event. The Sporting Clays course tested all shooters, with Nagel scoring 67 and Laes close behind at 65. Weaver and Myers each tallied a 61, while Igou posted a 55 to round out the team's performance.
The Warriors showed strong consistency and depth across all events and demonstrated continued growth in their shooting program. With momentum building and valuable experience gained, Waldorf now turns its focus to the remainder of the fall season with confidence and determination. The Warriors are set to compete next at the ACUI Regional in Grand Island, Nebraska, on October 17-19.
