YANKTON, South Dakota. Waldorf Baseball could not come up with a win over the weekend against both Mount Marty and Midland. The Warriors went up to Yankton, SD to play a double header against the Lancers of Mount Marty, losing both games by a score of 13-2. Dylan Battye led the way for Warriors in the two games, leading the team with 3 total hits, a run scored, and an RBI in the second game of the double header. Pitcher, William Childs, picked up 6 strikeouts in the second game of the double header in three and two-thirds innings pitched.
On Saturday, the Warriors came back home to Forest City to take on the Midland Warriors in a double header. They lost the first game by a score of 3-2. The Warriors also dropped the second game of the double header, this time by a score of 25-7. Andrew Herrin had 3 RBI's in the two games for the Warriors, leading the way in that department. Mason Smith also added 2 RBI's in the second game of the double header, but he also walked 3 times in the first game, getting on base a total of 5 times in the two games against Midland. In the pitching department, Brandon Berg, pitched 7 innings, only giving up 2 runs and striking out 4 in the first game of the double header.
The Waldorf Warriors Baseball team now sit at 8-20, with a 1-7 record in GPAC play. They will take on Viterbo on Tuesday, March 24th in Forest City, Iowa for their next competition.
