Heitkamp & Nelson Named MCH All-League First Team
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Midwest College Hockey (MCH) conference announced their 2022-2023 postseason awards on Thursday. The Warriors tabbed two on the All-League First Team.
"The coaching staff are extremely happy for Tyler and Michael," Head Coach Mike Heitkamp stated. "It's nice to see their sacrifices and hard work was recognized by the coaches across the conference that last two years. They both are great examples of Warrior hockey and the direction we are taking our program."
Tyler Nelson (SO/Pleasanton, CA) was selected as a forward on the First Team. Nelson appeared in 31 games, with 19 goals, and 27 assists. He tallied 46 points and had one game winning goal against Williston State on Oct. 28th, 2022. On Oct 29th, Nelson scored a season-high of three goals. He also had two games with three assists each.
Michael Heitkamp (JR/Grand Rapids, MN) was named to the First Team as a defender. Heitkamp was seen in 32 games, eight goals, and 18 assists. He finished with 26 points and also had a game winning goal against Dakota College at Bottineau on December 3rd, 2022. Heitkamp had a season high of three assists against McKendree University on October 1st, 2022.
