Hockey Adds Arver to Growing '23-'24 Incoming Class
The Waldorf Hockey Team continues to build its 2023-24 roster, with Head Coach Mike Heitkamp announcing the signing of forward Robby Arver on Monday.
"Initially, Robby stood out to us with his grit and size," Heitkamp said. "Once we talked with him, we knew his personality was a great compliment to the on-ice resources we are getting in his game. Robby brings an attribute to our forward unit that we have been missing. We expect him to come in and provide intensity to our forecheck and provide a strong presence in front of the net."
Arver, a native of Spokane, Washington, comes to Waldorf following a distinguished junior hockey career with the Butte Cobras of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). With the Cobras, Arver played in portions of four seasons and appeared in 113 career games. He scored 10 goals and had 17 assists for a total of 27 points. Listed at 6'4'' and 225 lbs, Arver will add size to the Waldorf offensive attack.
"We see Robby scoring some of the goals that we did not get this year with his size and tenacity," said Coach Heitkamp. "I see his game fitting into our program very well. He is also a guy that we believe will play a role in the locker room with his personality and love of the game. Robby will have the opportunity to have a major impact to our program. I am extremely excited to see him in a Warrior jersey next fall."
Arver joins a growing incoming freshman class as Waldorf strives to take another step forward next season. The Warriors recently finished a 13-win campaign, the program's most victories as an ACHA Division 1 program. Waldorf will begin its 2023-24 season in September.
