Outdoor Track & Field Teams Compete at Phil Esten Challenge
LaCROSSE, WI – The Waldorf men's and women's track teams competed at the Phil Esten Challenge at the Veterans Memorial Stadium hosted by UW-LaCrosse over the weekend.
On the men's side, Khamarly Holmes (SR/Homestead, FL) and Jorge Olivo-Cabrera (SR/Andover, MN) ran in the 400-meter hurdles. Holmes placed 1st with a time of 55.00 and Olivo-Cabrera finished in 7th with a 57.60. Dartanian Morin (FR/Iowa Falls, IA) also ran the 400-meter hurdles and finished with 1:00.86.
Olivo-Cabrera also ran in the 110-meter hurdles. In the prelims, he finished in 4th place with a time of 15.16 and then bettered his time in the finals with 15.01 and got 3rd place.
Wade Baker (SR/Chewelah, WA) competed in the discus with a throw of 39.81m. Nehemiah Harrell (FR/Cincinnati, OH) ran the 100-meter dash and finished with a time of 11.47.
The women's 4x400-meter relay took, consisted of Catherine Clarke-Ashford (SR/Snellville, GA), Charlize Salgado (FR/Orlando, FL), Daniela Benavides (JR/Lima, Peru), and Eliza McKown (FR/Orono, MN), got a 2nd place finish with a time of 4:20.67.
Alazey Mishleau (JR/Denver City, TX) competed in two field events, the high jump and long jump. In the high jump, Mishleau got 8th place with a jump of 1.54m and in the long jump, she jumped 4.62m.
Benavides also competed in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:37.81. Danielle Wood (SO/Howard Lake, MN) ran in the 5,000 meter and finished with a time of 21:00.55 and Carmen Mata-Lara (SR/Edinburg, TX) ran the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:18.27.
Next up the Warriors will have athletes competing in two meets this weekend, Drake Relays and the Kip Jarvin Invite.
