Baker sets school records at USD meet
VERMILLION, S.D. - Wade Baker continued his dominant outdoor season so far by setting two school records last weekend at the USD Early Bird meet.
Baker set a new mark in the shot put with a heave of 17.05 meters. That distance placed him second in the meet and places him second overall in the NAIA. Baker also set a new scool record in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.59 meters. That placed him eighth overall in the meet. He also placed ninth in the discus throw with a distance of 43.68 meters.
There were also some good performances on the track. Robert Beal's time of 11.33 in the 100-meter dash places him fourth in school history. Xzayvier Horton is now 10th all-time at Waldorf in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.77. Nolan Reynolds is now seventh all-time in school history in the 400-meter hurdles after his time of 1:00.36.
Waldorf next competes Friday at the Jim Duncan Invite held at Drake University.
