Women's golf team places third at NSAAs
LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Waldorf women's golf team competed at the two-day NSAA Championships hosted by Viterbo. The team placed third overall.
Waldorf was in a tie for third place with Viterbo following Monday's action, one shot behind Dickinson State. Following Tuesday's play, Bellevue easily claimed the overall team crown with a team total of 637. Viterbo placed second with a team score of 692. Waldorf was three shots back at 695. Dickinson State placed fourth at 705. Valley City State (738) and Mayville State (938) rounded out the field.
Waldorf's Isabella Heintzelman held the overall individual lead after the first day with a 78. She carded an 80 on Tuesday. Bellevue's IY Ibnu outpaced the field Tuesday with a 74 to claim the individual title with a two-day total of 155, three shots ahead of Heintzelman (158) who finished tied for second, claiming First-Team All-Conference honors.
Amanda Karvala earned Honorable Mention honors with an eighth place finish. Her two-day total was 165. Hailey Panos just missed out on Honorable Mention honors as she finished in 15th place with a 182. Ashley Groesbeck finished in 20th place with a 190 and Madison Carver tied for 24th with a 201.
Hailey Panos was Waldorf's recipient for the NSAA Champions of Character.
