Waldorf Women’s Golf competes against DMACC
BOONE, Iowa – The Waldorf women's golf team contested a dual against Des Moines Area CC on Monday, dropping the match 346-400 to the NJCAA DII 11th-ranked Bears. Several inches of rain in the days leading up to the tournament created wet conditions, prompting preferred lies to be in effect for the event.
The 11-player field took on the par-72, 5,929-yard layout at Cedar Pointe Golf Course, which played host to the inaugural NJCAA DII Women's National Championship last year.
Waldorf's Shelby Effle led the Warrior side, finishing with a 94 to tie for fifth place with Sydney Helgeson of DMACC.
Freshman Lindsay Clouse was next for Waldorf, finishing seventh with a 98.
Ashlyn Gutierrez and Laynee Simpson posted the final two counting scores for Waldorf with a 101 and a 107, respectively.
Megan Wilde of DMACC won the individual tournament with a round of 80 (+8).
WU's women's team will be back in action April 12-13 at the Loras Spring Invitational in Dubuque, Iowa.
