Waldorf Women's Golf Wraps Up GPAC Championship with Strong Individual Finish by Heintzelman
CAIRO, Neb. — The Waldorf University women's golf team concluded their season at the GPAC Championship on Monday, April 29, finishing 11th overall after the third and final round of the tournament held at Centura Hills Golf Club.
Highlighting the day for the Warriors was Isabella Heintzelman, who turned in a standout performance with a 5-over-par 77 in round three. Her consistent play across all rounds earned her a total score of 242, placing her in a tie for 10th individually among a competitive field.
Ashley Groesbeck followed with a round-three score of 88, bringing her tournament total to 282. Maddie Carver and Shelby Effle each carded a 97 in the final round, finishing with 295 and 298, respectively. Rounding out the team effort, Ashlyn Gutierrez posted a 108 to finish with a total of 331.
Despite challenging conditions and strong competition in the GPAC, the Warriors showed grit and determination throughout the championship. The team's 11th-place finish capped a season marked by growth and perseverance, with Heintzelman's top-10 individual finish as a bright spot for the program.
The GPAC Championship brought together some of the region's top NAIA programs, and Waldorf's participation reflects their continued commitment to developing competitive athletes both on and off the course.
