Men's golf keeps busy on the links
STORM LAKE, Iowa / SILVIS, Ill. - The Waldorf men's golf team was well represented at two back-to-back events Saturday through Tuesday.
One Waldorf team played at the Buena Vista Invite Saturday and Sunday. Another team played at NAIA National Preview Monday and Tuesday in Silvis, Illinois.
At Buena Vista, Waldorf placed eighth. Patrick Arndt was the Warriors' top finisher as he completed the two-day event with an 18-over par score, good for a tie for 21st place. Caden Skelding finished in 34th place with a two-day total of 24-over par. Logan Hoshauer (+25), Johannes Shaw (+26), and Caden Loeppky (+30) rounded out the team.
Monday and Tuesday, Waldorf was one of 24 teams competing in the NAIA National Preview. The Warriors came in ninth place. Mount Mercy won the team crown. Out of 119 golfers, Thomas Houdayer wound up tied for seventh after the two-day event shooting a 4-over par 146. Braxton Tremain had a top 20 finish with a 6-over par 148. Tyler Clouse (+16), Carlos Filipczak (+21), and Keegan Bronson (+23) rounded out the Waldorf field.
Waldorf next competes Sunday at the Waldorf Invitational in Albert Lea, Minn.
