Waldorf Men's Basketball Falls on Senior Night vs. Dordt
FOREST CITY, Iowa. Dordt (Iowa) used a dominant first-half shooting display to take control early and hand Waldorf a 112-77 loss on Saturday afternoon in Forest City, Iowa.
Dordt broke the game open in the first half, building a 25-8 lead behind a string of 3-pointers and never looking back. Connor Millikan connected from deep to make it 13-6, and Steven Poulicek and Ty Van Essen followed with triples that stretched the margin to 18-6 and 25-8. By the time Van Essen knocked down a jumper in the closing seconds of the half, Dordt had surged to a 60-30 advantage at the break.
The Defenders' efficiency was the difference throughout. Dordt finished 42-for-68 from the field, a blistering 61.8 percent, and went 20-for-21 at the free-throw line. They also controlled the glass with a 40-27 rebounding edge and moved the ball effectively, totaling 21 assists against just 10 turnovers. Waldorf battled to keep pace from the perimeter, knocking down 14 3-pointers, but shot 35.8 percent overall on 29-of-81 attempts.
Waldorf showed more rhythm offensively in the second half, outscoring its first half total with 47 points over the final two quarters. The Warriors continued to fire from long range and generated second-chance looks with 11 offensive rebounds, helping the hosts match Dordt's tempo for stretches. McNeal Thompson IV capped Waldorf's scoring with a late layup that set the final margin at 112-77.
Individually, Dordt was led by Millikan, who nearly posted a complete line with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes. Judson Henkel added 15 points in 18 minutes, including a three-point play early in the second half that pushed the lead to 66-30. Jake Proctor chipped in 12 points and three assists while going 6-for-6 at the free-throw line, and Dordt's depth showed as multiple players contributed during key runs, including a transition layup from Tysen De Vries to make it 95-47 and a 3-pointer from Tom Dobson that pushed the advantage to 98-50.
For Waldorf, Foley Omar paced the Warriors with a game-high 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes, providing steady production despite Dordt's pressure. Cohen Aldridge added 12 points, four rebounds and three assists while helping spark some of Waldorf's perimeter shooting. The Warriors also collected 17 assists on their 29 made field goals and recorded six steals, showing defensive activity against a Dordt offense that rarely cooled off.
The Warriors completed the 2025-26 season with a record of 6-22, with a conference record of 2-18.
