Waldorf Volleyball Extends Winning Streak with Back-to-Back Sweeps
OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The Waldorf University volleyball team kept its undefeated season alive with back-to-back straight-set wins over Clarke University (25-16, 28-26, 25-20) and Graceland University (25-17, 25-16, 25-21) on Friday, August 29, at the William Penn Tournament.
Waldorf opened the day with a strong performance against Clarke, highlighted by Kaylin Koch's standout double-double—10 kills and 10 digs—along with an ace and a solo block that fueled the Warriors on both sides of the net. Anna Longhenry was sharp and efficient at the net, recording 10 kills on a stellar .450 hitting percentage. Jalyn Hovenga and Sydney Kidd also made key contributions with 9 kills apiece, rounding out a balanced offense.
The Warriors' offense ran smoothly throughout the match behind the setting duo of Reinya Balderson (25 assists) and Gianna Sifuentes (21 assists). After cruising through the first set, Waldorf outlasted Clarke in a tight second set (28-26) and sealed the sweep with clutch plays down the stretch in the third.
In the afternoon matchup against Graceland, Sydney Kidd led the way at the net with 7 kills, while Anna Longhenry and Peyton Klooster added 6 kills each to keep the Yellowjackets' defense guessing. Reinya Balderson stayed consistent, guiding the offense with 16 assists.
Defensively, McKenna Marlow anchored the back row with 11 digs, helping Waldorf control the pace of play. Kaylin Koch continued her strong day with 3 aces, applying steady pressure from the service line.
With the two wins, Waldorf improves to 6-0 on the season, continuing to show depth, balance, and composure in key moments.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, August 30, for a doubleheader against Southwestern at 11 a.m. and host William Penn at 3 p.m.
