Softball Loses Both to Dakota Wesleyan
MITCHELL, SD - On April 19, 2025, the Waldorf University Warriors faced a challenging softball outing against Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in Mitchell, S.D., falling by a score of 11-3 in game one and 12-0 in game two.
Game One:
Key scorers for the Warriors included K. Schulz, P. Pierson, and T. Oakes, who each ran home to make their marks on the scoreboard. T. Oakes was not only a crucial scorer but also contributed significantly with a homer and RBIs alongside R. RJidout and J. Plath, who helped fortify the team's offensive efforts. Notably, R. Ridout also doubled in the 2nd inning, earning an RBI which briefly raised team spirits. The highlight for Waldorf came when T. Oakes slammed a crucial homer in the 3rd inning, leveling the score at 3-3, though this was soon overshadowed by the Tigers' powerful inning surge led by A. Ernsberge and P. Bagley with back-to-back homers.

Kierra Lynn Schulz was 1 for 2.
Paige Pierson was 2 for 2 with a double.
Reagan Ridout was 2 for 3 with a double.

Game Two:
Despite the tough competition, there was a silver lining for the Warriors, as H. Ehlert stood out with a commendable performance at the plate, managing two hits, including a robust double in the top of the fifth, but Gabby Bierly was thrown out at home ending the inning and the game.

Gabby Bierly was 1 for 3.
Haley Ehlert was 2 for 3 with a double.
Jenna Busch was 2 for 2.
Pierson and Ridout each had one hit.
Ridout started the game giving up 6 earned runs and 3 strikeouts.
