Softball Drops 2 to Midland during Home Opener
FOREST CITY, IA - Waldorf softball played their home opener this weekend Saturday, March 21st against Midland University. They lost game one 8-0 in 6 innings and lost game two 11-0 in five innings. Offense struggled to ignite during the double header with only earning 3 hits through the first game. Freshman Kylie Bates went 1-2 with a walk and a basehit up the middle. Sophomore Reagan Ridout went 1-3 with a single through the left side, and freshman Avery Mauldin went 1-2 with a single up the middle.
Reagan Ridout would take the loss in the circle pitching 4.0 innings. She gave up 7 earned runs on 9 hits and a walk.
Game two was not deemed any more successful than the first. The Warriors were left hitless only achieving four baserunners from two walks and two hit by pitches.
Jaycee Plath took the loss in the circle giving up 9 earned runs on 9 hits and 4 walks in just 2.1 innings.
The Warriors will be on the road next weekend for a double-header against Doane on Friday and a double-header against Hastings on Saturday March 27th and 28th.
