Waldorf University Men's Soccer Falls in Close Contest Against Evangel (MO)
SPRINGFIELD, Missouri. In a non-conference contest for the Waldorf University Warriors in Springfield, Missouri, the men's soccer team was unable to secure a win against Evangel (MO) on August 30, 2025. The regular season match concluded with a 2-0 defeat for the Warriors, leaving their current season record at 0-3-0.
The match began with Waldorf trying to establish control, but Evangel (MO) took the lead in the first half. Juyong Kim marked the first goal for Evangel at 28:49 with an assist from Vasco Goncalves. Despite efforts from Waldorf, the half closed with Evangel leading 1-0.
The second half saw continued pressure from both sides. Andrea Fincato extended the lead for Evangel, scoring the second goal at 53:23, assisted by Joao Sa. Waldorf responded vigorously, with Vinzent Krieger making multiple attempts on goal, but ultimately they were unable to break through Evangel's defense.
Waldorf's goalkeeper, Samuel Borjon, was a key player, making four saves over the course of the match. Despite his efforts, Evangel's offense proved strong enough to breakthrough two times.
