Waldorf University Warriors Face Setback Against Dordt Defenders in Soccer Game
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - The Waldorf University Warriors suffered a challenging defeat, losing 5-0 to the Dordt (IA) Defenders on Wednesday.
The match started aggressively with Dordt (IA) scoring early. Marco Laenen scored the opening goal quickly at 2:26 into the game, setting the pace for the Defenders. Despite strong efforts, the Warriors were unable to find the net in the first half, concluding with a 3-0 disadvantage.
Trigve Elkins boosted the Defenders' lead by scoring in the second half, showcasing significant skill and coordination, particularly with assists from teammates like Tyler Van Hofwegen and Jacob Narkis. The Warriors, led defensively by goalie Dickson Phoon, faced a sturdy opponent offense but struggled to turn the tide. The match wrapped up with Muluken Kamm scoring the fifth and final goal for Dordt (IA).
