Waldorf University Men's Soccer Clinches Victory in Showdown Against Concordia-Moorhead
MOORHEAD, Minnesota. In an impressive display at the Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex on September 20, 2025, the Waldorf University Warriors men's soccer team secured a decisive 2-0 victory over Concordia-Moorhead during a regular season match.
From the outset, Waldorf University set a strong pace with Mohammed Maahiruzzaman opening the scoring in the 13th minute, thanks to an assist from Anthony Olivera. This early goal set the tone for the match, with the Warriors maintaining control of the game. Ryder Tormaschy added to the tally, scoring the second goal for Waldorf, again assisted by Olivera.
Defensively, the Warriors were impenetrable, spearheaded by goalkeeper Dickson Phoon, who not only kept a clean sheet but also made an impressive nine saves throughout the match. Phoon's performance was a critical component of Waldorf's success, preventing Concordia-Moorhead from converting any of their opportunities into goals. The match concluded with Waldorf University maintaining their 2-0 lead established by halftime.
Looking forward, the Warriors are set to host Northwestern College in Forest City, IA, on September 24, 2025. This upcoming game represents another opportunity for Waldorf to climb up the ranks and improve their current record of 2 wins, 5 losses, and no draws in regular matches.
