Warriors Go Cold in Second Half vs Doane
Crete, Neb
The Warriors played very well on the defensive end for the game, but offensive struggles in the second half allowed Doane to grow a lead they would hold until the final buzzer. The Warriors defense allowed just 4 made 3s on 27 attempts, holding the tigers to 14.8% from behind the arc. The Warriors also held the Tigers to 32.4% shooting from the floor. The tight defense combined with solid offensive output put the Warriors up 1 at the end of the first quarter, and had Waldorf only down by 7 at halftime. Doane's 11 offensive rebounds in the third quarter and their 24 total free throws attempted were the major factors in then growing the deficit for the Warriors.
Charlotte Mills 12 points and 9 rebounds led the Warriors. Cloey Dmytruk scored 9 with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alba Garrido-Lamas scored 5.
The Warriors will take their next trip to Mitchell, South Dakota to play Dakota Wesleyan at the Corn Palace on Wenesday, January 14th.
