Warriors Battle Hard with Tigers at Home

The Warriors competed hard saturday afternoon as they hosted the Doane Tigers. The Tigers came out the gate hot in the first quarter, making 5 3s in the first quarter and shooting 52.6% from the field to build a 12 points lead to end the first quarter. A much tighter second quarter followed, leading to a 15 point lead for Doane at the Half. The Tigers began the second half well as well, growing the Warrior deficit to 20. The Warriors then spent the second half clawing their way back, competeing hard to draw the Tiger lead to 9 three separate times. The Warriors grabbed the momentum several times, and just needed one or two more bounces to go their way to help draw the game to a single possession game to finish it. The Warriors were able to win the second half by 5.
Overall the Warriors made 13 3 point baskets in the game, with seven different warriors making at least one 3 pointer. Destiny Sao-Martinez led the Warriors in scoring with 17 points behind three made 3s. Mia Sao-Martinez made four 3s to join her sister in double figures with 16 points. Charlotte Mills ended with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and seven steals. Jariah Riley ended with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
The Warriors will play at home again Wednesday, February 18th against the Northwestern Red Raiders.
