Waldorf Football Ranked No. 24 in Nation
KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Waldorf football team finds themselves ranked nationally this week for the first time in the top 25 this season.
Following their 42-17 win against Dakota State University on Saturday, Sept. 17th afternoon, the Warriors (4-0) are ranked No. 24 in the country in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 poll released on Monday.
This is the first time Waldorf has been nationally ranked since December 12th, 2019 at No. 23, for the postseason poll. In 2019, the Warriors received two weeks, back-to-back at No. 25 in October. "It's very exciting for Waldorf University, our players and staff," Head Coach Will Finley's thoughts on the recognition.
Dickinson State, fellow NSAA (North Star Athletic Association) conference school, was ranked 16th in the preseason poll and has been a constant Top 25 team in the past.
The Warriors are gearing up to play defending NCAA Division II National Champions Ferris State on Saturday, September 24th in Big Rapids, MI. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 1 in the Division II AFCA Coaches Poll.
