Warriors fall to Briar Cliff in the Snow
Forest City, Iowa
With a temperature of 36 degrees and snow on the ground the Warriors battled with the Chargers of Briar Cliff for game number 9 of the 2025 season.
Briar Cliff was relentless on the ground, rushing 58 times for 211 yards. This rushing attack helped the chargers dominate the time of possession battle and limit opprotunities the Warriors offense had to strike.
Two lost fumbles by the Warriors shut down promising drives in the first half, helping the Chargers to a 21-0 lead at the break. The Chargers also lost two fumbles of their own, one of which helped spark a touchdown drive from the Warriors late in the second half. A good kickoff return and an unnessesary roughness penalty set the Warriors up in good field possition for another touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. The comeback attempt came too late however, as Briar Cliffs first half was enough to hold off the Warriors and end the game. The Chargers 28 points is the fewest points scored by a Waldorf opponent this year.
Quarterback Chris Walter led the team with 2 rushes for 34 yards with a long of 33 which resulted in a touchdown. John Duffy rushed the ball one time for 9 yards and a touchdown. A collective effort defensively was highlighted by Neeko Page and his 10 tackles, one for a loss. Christian Gerot, Jamari McCollum-Mattox, and Luke Beyer all recorded 9 tackles. Keegan Handal sacked the Charger quarterback once for a 5 yard loss.
The Warriors will return to Bolstorff Field this Saturday, November 15th to face Doane University for the final game of the season.
