Waldorf University Warriors Face Tough Outing Against #4 Morningside
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf Warriors football team faced a tough opponent in #4 Morningside on Saturday. Despite their best efforts, the Warriors struggled in the first half, trailing Morningside at halftime with a score of 49-0.
Throughout the game, Waldorf found it difficult to penetrate Morningside's strong defensive lineup. The Warriors' offense saw contributions from players like Anthony Tucker who garnered 31 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards and Cordey Taylor who added 54 rushing yards. On the defensive side, Christian Gerot stood out with 10 total tackles.
The highlight for the Warriors came in the fourth quarter when Jamari McCollum-Mattox capitalized on an interception, running it back for a touchdown, adding six points to the Warriors' tally. This was the sole touchdown for Waldorf University in the match, leading to a final score of 69-6 in favor of Morningside.
The Warriors return home next Saturday, October 11 for their Homecoming game against #13 Dordt University at 1pm.
