Warriors Drop to Blue Hawks
DICKINSON, N.D. – The Waldorf football team was looking to stay undefeated in conference going into today's game against (RV)Dickinson State University. Warrior turnovers played a huge factor, losing 7-50.
The Blue Hawks were able to force the Warriors to have a turnover on downs for their first drive of the game. Dickinson State gained possession to score on their first drive of the game. Defense for the Blue Hawks came up with an interception against the Warrior offense and scored a field goal to go up 0-10 with four minutes left in the first quarter.
Isaac Burgett (SO/Emmons, MN) faked a punt on 4th and 4 at the Waldorf 31-yard line and rushed for 29 yards. Quarterback Jordan Cooper (JR/New Caney, TX) completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Seth Oakes (SR/Fort Worth, TX) to close out the first quarter, making the score 7-10. Willie Stricklin (SR/San Diego, CA) forced a fumble and recovered by the defense, preventing the Blue Hawks from scoring.
The Warriors were unable to score again for the rest of game and the Blue Hawks went on to win 7-50.
Next up for the football team is a conference game on Saturday, October 22nd for Homecoming. Kickoff is at 1pm.
