Warriors End Season at Dakota State
MADISON, S.D. – The Waldorf football traveled to conclude their 2022 season against Dakota State University. The Warriors lost 0-13.
At the start of the first quarter, the Warriors had a turnover on downs which the Trojans were able to turn into a touchdown scoring drive.
The Warriors were forced to punt with just under 5-minutes left in the first quarter. Dakota State scored a field goal on their next drive, going up 10-0 to close out the quarter.
Trojans scored their second field goal and final points of the game in the second quarter. Kasen Handal (SR/Tomball, TX) had an interception at the Waldorf 45-yard line and returned it for 45 yards. Dakota State defense came up big and stopped the Warriors from scoring.
The second half was a strong defensive battle by neither team scoring. The Trojans won 13-0.
"Proud of our seniors and the team today. We faced adversity and never gave up," stated Head Coach Will Finley. "Not the outcome we wanted but we will learn from it and improve."
The Warriors finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 7-4 and 3-3 in conference.
