Football Receives Four NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has published the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes on Tuesday.
The Waldorf football team had four athletes named as NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for their efforts on the field and in the classroom: senior Alexander Atherton (El Cajon, CA/Hastings College), junior Christian Gerot (Columbus Junction, IA/Winfield-Mt. Union HS), junior Roberto Morales (San Diego, CA/Escondido HS), and sophomore Alexander Bartz (Klemme, IA/Belmond-Klemme HS).
"Great accomplishment for our student-athletes! Shows the dedication and hard work both on and off the field! We are proud of them," stated Head Coach Will Finley.
The 2022 list features over 900 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA). In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
